Eating slower is better for digestion, sanity and overall health. But we have been running through life without much time for anything. And when it comes to food, we just gobble it down. This leads to highly stressful, unhealthy life.
And if we just start eating slowly, we can just reverse the unhealthy lifestyle. How hard it would be to take small bites, chew slower and longer, and you can enjoy your meal longer. This may consume a few more minutes each day, but can have profound effects.

Studies indicate that eating slower is going to help lose weight. Our minds take about 20 minutes to realise that we are full. Eating slower also makes sure that we reach this time early, and feel full.

It’s difficult to enjoy food if you consume too fast. Mindful slow eating will make sure that you can enjoy the food you are eating. It also applies to sinful foods. There is no sense in eating fast food, fast. If you eat it slow, you are going to better savour it, and be full with lesser amount.

While eating slowly, you are bound to chew the food better, which is going to aid in better digestion. Better digestion will make sure that the stomach has to perform less work, thus leading to fewer digestive problems.
Decreased Stress
Eating slowly and paying attention to it, is a great form of mindfulness exercise. Rather than rushing through other thoughts, it’s better to be present at the moment. Being mindful will lead to a lesser stressful life, and therefore long-term happiness.
We should focus on leaving out the hectic, fast-paced, chaotic and stressful lives. Eating is a large part of it. The fast life as well as fast food is dehumanising us and making us unhealthy. We are going through our lives, completing one task after another, without even taking the time to live life.
